Shopping with a Purpose – Helping Keep Children Safe

Charlie’s Boutique, a unique shopping event and night out on the town, will be held this Saturday evening, April 17, 2010 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at The Clubhouse on Baltimore in Kansas City, Missouri (1228 Baltimore).

In addition to delicious appetizers and a fun atmosphere, premier Kansas City merchants have been hand-selected to showcase their wares for 3 hours of uninterrupted shopping – all to benefit a great cause – Charlie’s House.

Don’t miss out on this rare opportunity. Tickets are still available and can be purchased in advance for $50 by visiting www.charlieshouse.com or calling (913) 375-7123. Tickets will be $75 at the door.

“It is our goal to increase the awareness level and knowledge to keep children safe in and around the home. Charlie’s Boutique provides an avenue to not only share our story but also the mission of the organization. The event will be incredible with lots of shopping, entertainment and fun. It’s a perfect way to help raise the funds to make our safety demonstration house a reality within the next 18 to 24 months,” comments Jenny Horn, mother of Charlie and event co-chair.

About Charlie’s House
Charlie’s House (formerly Charlie’s Safe Haven) is named in memory of Charlie Horn, a local Kansas City boy, who lost his life at the age of 2 when a dresser in his home fell onto him. The organization is currently raising funds to build a safety demonstration house in greater Kansas City. This house will provide care givers (parents, grandparents, daycare providers, babysitters and more) with real-life demonstrations and resources on children’s safety in and around the home.

The mission of Charlie’s House is to prevent unintentional injuries to children in and around the home. Charlie’s House is a 501(c)(3) organization that was formed in November, 2007. For more information, please visit www.charlieshouse.com.
