A non-profit organization in Lincoln, NE dedicated to building and providing a home for young adults with disabilities.
The Home
The Home

This home is being built for 3 young men who are physically handicapped and are wanting to live independent from their parents. Mentally, they could do this, but they need help physically. Due to the fact that they are physically handicapped they need a home that is efficient and works for them. The group homes that are available in Lincoln at this time are more for mentally handicapped children and these boys do not fit into that environment. They are seeking a home where they cannot only be independent but can socially interact with people their age. Therefore this home is designed to suit specific needs for physically handicapped adults, and give them a "home".

We are currently working with Allen Barber of Barber Homes who is committed to our project. He as been coordinating all the facets of the project, from blueprints to the daily construction of the home, working with contractors to provide quality work at reasonable rates. Some services and products have been donated to the project. He has been a great asset in building a high quality home at an affordable cost, making Charlie's dream become a reality.

A generous donation of a lot in South central Lincoln has narrowed our fundraising focus to securing the necessary funds to build the home. We are currently in the process of building with the date of completion set for June 2008. We still need community support in our ongoing effort to make this home a reality. Our goal is to have the home built debt-free.
